
My Story
A Life of Balance
My name is Emma Grist and I have practised and taught Pilates for over 15 years, having qualified to Level 3 in my mat certification. Since then I have completed further training in Pilates on the Reformer, Barrel, and props. I am also trained to teach specific disciplines, including older clients and pre/post natal clients. I also still teach on Zoom twice a week and send out weekly recordings.
I love teaching pilates and I have some great characters in my classes who are a pleasure to teach. I am responsible for helping people achieve optimal posture, correct muscle imbalances, improve strength, and overall health and wellbeing. It's quite a tall order. And it can be exhausting! So I limit my teaching to approximately 15 hours a week. I Plan each class and vary and adapt classes to suit the needs of my clients. I continue to train and am a member of J Pilates Associates (teacher training company).

Since 'Lockdown' I have had more time for my personal practice which is so valuable and has reminded me of my love of Pilates and all the benefits. The connection between your mental health and your mat is real. Research has shown time and time again that exercise can play a significant role in helping manage stress, anxiety, mood and increase resilience via numerous, complex processes. This is of such importance in the current climate and I hope that you will join me on the mat to gain those benefits. The classes I teach focus on posture, balance, alignment, strength and mobility therefore increasing your muscle tone & flexibility, alleviating aches and pains, preventing injury and allowing you to move freely.

I am based in Kent and teach in Matfield, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks and on Zoom. Please check out my timetable and class details for more information. I can also offer any one to one training or small group private classes.
